Rachel Brookes shares her experience in Baku
Rachel Brookes was absent from Sky Sports' broadcast of the F1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix due to illness.
The television host successfully underwent an appendectomy in Baku.
She shared on social media, "I arrived here on Tuesday evening feeling unwell. Initially, I suspected it was severe food poisoning, but by yesterday, it turned out to be appendicitis requiring surgical intervention.
"I've undergone the appendectomy and everything is fine."
"I'd like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all my teammates at Sky Sports F1 for going above and beyond, filling in when needed, and for the overwhelming number of messages I received."
"Our team is truly outstanding."
"I'm also immensely grateful to Sky as an organization for going above and beyond to ensure I received optimal care and for arranging for my sister to come and support me."
"That's essentially the reason I missed reporting this weekend."
"Meet you in Texas."
David Croft is absent from Sky's broadcast, a move that was scheduled in advance. He is currently on his honeymoon, with Harry Benjamin stepping in as the commentator in his stead.
