The company alleges that Laksha Bohra, who labored as a senior supervisor in Amazon’s tax division, had entry to confidential info from Amazon forward of the corporate’s quarterly and annual earnings stories.
From January 2016 by July 2018, Bohra allegedly tipped her husband Viky Bohra off on the corporate’s monetary efficiency. Bohra’s husband would then commerce the inventory together with his father, Gotham Bohra, on the confidential info, the SEC stated. The group allegedly traded on the confidential info in 11 separate accounts maintained by the household.
The SEC filed its complain in federal courtroom in Seattle, charging the relations with violating anti-fraud provisions of the federal securities legal guidelines.
Amazon declined to touch upon the costs. An legal professional for Laksha Bohra didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark.
