Sainz Penalized Three Positions for Blocking Massa During Hockenheim Qualifying
Sainz penalized, drops three grid places for obstructing Massa
Carlos Sainz has been handed a three-place grid penalty for the German Grand Prix after being found guilty of blocking Felipe Massa during the qualifying session at Hockenheimring.
Sainz was seen driving on the racing line as he approached turn two in Q2, which pushed Williams' Massa off track and disrupted his lap.
Although Massa advanced to Q3, unlike Sainz who placed 13th, the stewards still penalized the Spaniard for his infraction, relegating him to a provisional 16th position on the starting grid.
