Quartararo Finds Silver Lining in Le Mans Crash as Yamaha Shows Improvement, While Marquez’s Remarkable Comeback and Penalty Debates Stir MotoGP
After a disappointing Le Mans race, Fabio Quartararo finds a silver lining: “For the first time, crashing doesn't dampen my spirits”
“Honestly, I believe this is the first instance where I’ve felt such happiness despite not finishing the race due to a crash” – Fabio Quartararo.
Fabio Quartararo expressed his unprecedented level of satisfaction following a crash during a MotoGP event, attributing his positive outlook to the considerable progress Yamaha achieved at Le Mans.
For the first time this season, Quartararo emerged as a competitor for the top six positions based solely on speed.

Part of that success was attributed to Quartararo, who was cheered on enthusiastically by his devoted fans, but it was also due to enhancements made to the M1.
Following the grand prix, Quartararo expressed, "I believe this is the inaugural occasion I've felt such joy post-race, despite having crashed."
"This was significant as it marked our initial occasion this year to be among the top 6 contenders, actively competing. I was putting up a strong fight, especially against Aleix."
"I witnessed some excellent cyclists ahead of me, and I believe I became overly enthusiastic about the speed we were going at, which sadly led to me crashing.
"I'm quite pleased with the race's outcome, despite the error we encountered towards the finish. Nonetheless, I believe we can still feel good about our performance. Witnessing the continuous support from the fans, we were compelled to put in our maximum effort."
Team leader Massimo Meregalli shared his thoughts on Quartararo's outstanding display.
Despite his regret that the 2021 MotoGP champion wasn't able to secure a victory before his fans, Meregalli found satisfaction in Quartararo's performance speed.
"Meregalli expressed deep regret on behalf of Fabio, stating, "It's truly disheartening. We're aware of how much he aimed to perform well at his home Grand Prix, especially with the immense support from the fans who've been absolutely amazing."
"It's unfortunate that his race concluded in such a manner, yet we all acknowledge his dedication, perseverance, and hard work."
Today, adjustments were made to his bicycle that turned out to be quite effective.
"He was keeping up with the leaders, which is a good and productive sign as we head into a packed three-week schedule."
