QI-Meritus Set for GP2 Asia Return: Malaysian Team Aims to Build on Impressive Debut
QI-Meritus to Compete Again in Asia.
After a successful debut last season, the QI-Meritus team is set to return for the upcoming GP2 Asia Series.
The team from Malaysia took over the 13th and last spot in the GP2 Asia Series for the debut season last year after Racing Engineering, a usual participant, declared they would not compete.
Since the latest GP2 Series Champions have opted not to participate in this year's competition, QI-Meritus will replace them with a new pair of drivers.
The QI-Meritus racing team is set to make a comeback in the next GP2 Asia Series after a triumphant debut in the competition last season.
The team from Malaysia took over the 13th and last spot in the GP2 Asia series for the previous year's first season, following the announcement from Racing Engineering, who were regular participants, that they would not be joining.
As the latest GP2 Series Champions have chosen not to participate in this year's championship, QI-Meritus will replace them with a new pair of drivers.
Even though QI-Meritus is typically involved in Formula Renault V6 Asia and doesn't have much experience in GP2, they still made a strong impression with their skilled drivers, Luca Filippi and Hiroki Yoshimoto.
The team ended up placing ninth in the overall rankings and achieved their highest finish in fourth place. However, Filippi was disqualified from a race he had initially won due to a minor mistake with the tires.
The GP2 Asia Series is starting in Shanghai on October 18th and 19th, serving as a supporting event for the Chinese Grand Prix.
