Projektnummer 634: Lamborghini enthüllt Hybrid-Powerhouse mit 800 PS für den Huracan-Nachfolger
Lamborghini unveils a new 800 horsepower hybrid engine
Initial details on the successor to the Huracan… it can rev up to 10,000 RPM!
Currently referred to as Project Number 634 within the company, the successor to Lamborghini's Huracan has yet to be officially named. Nevertheless, the Italian sports car manufacturer is already clear on the appearance and capabilities of this core component.
A newly designed V8 twin-turbo hybrid engine is set to take the place of the celebrated V10 naturally aspirated engine. This power unit, entirely engineered by Lamborghini, will be paired with three electric motors and an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission in the Revuelto, which has been fine-tuned for the successor of the Huracan.

Lamborghini's high-performance hybrid sports car is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 twin-turbo engine, which is expected to produce 800 horsepower between 9,000 and 9,750 RPM, and hits its top speed with a five-figure RPM at 10,000. Horsepower per liter? 200.

Values that may not quite match the performance of the WEC Hypercar SC63, but are still impressive for a street-legal supercar. This includes a peak torque of 730 Nm, which is expected to be consistently available between 4,000 and 7,000 RPM. These figures are achievable in part due to the inclusion of an electric motor.
The rear electrical setup is strategically positioned between the fresh V8 engine and the dual-clutch automatic transmission. In the latest Lamborghini, this particular electric motor independently generates 110 kW, which equates to 150 horsepower, along with a torque of 300 Newton-meters.

Additionally, Lamborghini reveals minor specifics about the sound of their latest high-performance car: The combination of the V8's capacity and its high frequency is expected to create a unique sound signature at elevated RPMs. In Lamborghini's words:
In the development stage, refining the sound definition was crucial to give the new engine a distinctive identity and provide the driver with an unparalleled driving experience. The new V8 engine enhances its features progressively, culminating at high RPMs in terms of volume and sound frequency. Coupled with the vibrations from the flat-plane crankshaft transmitted to the chassis, it creates a comprehensive sensory experience.

Is it possible that this will appropriately succeed the iconic V10 sound? We'll find out in 2024. Lamborghini has confirmed that the successor to the Huracan, which according to speculation may be named Temerario, is set to debut this year. Following the Revuelto and Urus SE, this marks the third leap towards an electrified future for the raging bull brand.
