Preicanos Racing Parts Ways with Bo Bendsneyder Amid Controversy: Confidential Leaks and Unmet Expectations Lead to Early Exit
Preicanos Moto2 has decided to terminate its relationship with Bo Bendsneyder, citing concerns about his conduct. The team has announced that Bendsneyder will not be continuing with them for the rest of the 2024 Moto2 World Championship season.
The Preicanos Racing team has announced that they have separated from Bo Bendsneyder after the completion of Round 13 in the 2024 Moto2 World Championship.
The Spanish team, previously called the SAG Racing Team, has maintained a long-term partnership with the Dutch racer over the past four seasons, starting their collaboration in 2021.
Preicanos Racing, which had initially planned to let Bendsneyder's contract expire at the end of the season, has opted to terminate it ahead of schedule. The team pointed to underwhelming performance and a breach of confidentiality that caused internal friction as reasons for this decision.
The Preicanos Racing Team has revealed adjustments to its Moto2 roster after conducting an internal review of this year's performance outcomes.
“Despite the original intention to conclude the partnership with Bo Bendsneyder after the season, the rider chose to part ways right before the Misano race.”
Over the course of several years, the outcomes have fallen short of what the team had hoped for. Additionally, their conduct, coupled with the unauthorized release of private information, has caused friction among the members.
After debuting in Moto2 with RW Racing in 2019, Bendsneyder moved to Preicanos Racing (formerly known as SAG) in 2021 and achieved his highest placement, finishing third at the Moto2 Grand Prix of the Americas last year.
Daniel Munoz, who has already filled in for Bendsneyder earlier this year, is anticipated to complete the rest of the season partnering with Jaume Masia.
