Pecco Bagnaia Battles Painful Injuries Ahead of Misano After Aragon MotoGP Crash with Alex Marquez
Pecco Bagnaia "suffering significant pain" following collision with Alex Marquez at Aragon MotoGP
Francesco Bagnaia has reported experiencing pain in his neck and shoulder due to a crash involving Alex Marquez during the Aragon MotoGP.
Francesco Bagnaia has provided specifics about the injuries he sustained following his collision with Alex Marquez during last weekend’s Aragon MotoGP race.
The incident occurred on the 18th lap of the Grand Prix when Marquez veered off course at turn 12. Bagnaia, who had initially started in third position but fell to seventh due to a slow start, was recovering his position in the race and appeared poised to overtake Marquez for the final podium spot.
The Italian rider attempted to capitalize on Marquez’s mistake at turn 12, but when he made his move at turn 13, the collision between them caused both to crash out of the race.
Bagnaia experienced a difficult tumble under Marquez's bike and subsequently visited the medical center.
In an interview with MotoGP.com following the Aragon race, Bagnaia mentioned experiencing "neck pain," but he also noted that "it could be a lot worse, so it's manageable."

In an Instagram story, Bagnaia explained the accident and mentioned that his left shoulder was hurting.
In his statement, Bagnaia explained that he seized the opportunity to overtake Alex Marquez when Marquez went wide. He also mentioned that he took a slightly wider line into the next corner, aware that another rider was present. Bagnaia expressed regret over how things turned out, noting that the weekend had already been challenging.
"Following yet another challenging beginning, caused by the difficult conditions at that specific grid location, I managed to stage a strong recovery and was significantly faster. Currently, I'm experiencing considerable pain, particularly in my left shoulder, but it seems that nothing is fractured."
"We'll strive to be in top shape for Misano."
With the San Marino Grand Prix set for this weekend, Bagnaia has just four days to regain his fitness before the practice sessions start for his home race. This mirrors last year's scenario when he crashed at the Catalan Grand Prix and arrived at Misano nursing leg injuries.
Last year, Bagnaia secured third place in both the Sprint and the Grand Prix, even though he was injured. However, the impact of his recent crash in Aragon on his performance at Misano will only become evident once practice begins on Friday morning.
