Paolo Pavesio to Succeed Lin Jarvis as Yamaha Managing Director in 2025
Yamaha has announced Paolo Pavesio as the new managing director to succeed Lin Jarvis in 2025.
Paolo Pavesio has been appointed to take over Lin Jarvis' role at Yamaha.
Starting January 1, 2025, Pavesio is set to take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
Before, he held the position of Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe, where he reorganized the motorsport sector, leading to world championship victories in World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP.
Pavesio will take over from Jarvis, who has been the head of Yamaha for 26 years and is now stepping
Jarvis guided Yamaha to achieve eight titles for riders, six for constructors, and seven for teams. He managed the peak years of the Japanese company with stars Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, and also their latest championship win with Fabio Quartararo.
Even though Jarvis is stepping down from his role as managing director, he will continue to serve as a Senior Advisor to Yamaha.
“On a personal note and representing Yamaha, I extend my gratitude to Lin for his commitment and accomplishments throughout the last 26 years," expressed Takahiro Sumi, General Manager of the Motor Sports Development Division.
His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha’s achievements in MotoGP, and I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise and experience in the future.
Paolo Pavesio will take over as Managing Director from Lin. Pavesio has extensive experience from his time at YME, where he led Yamaha teams to World Championship victories in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP as the Marketing and Motorsport Director.
"I am eager for Paolo to join YMR in January. I believe that with his guidance, Yamaha will achieve the future victories in MotoGP that we all aim for."
