Paolo Pavesio to take on managing director role in 2025
Paolo Pavesio has taken over Lin Jarvis' position at Yamaha.
Starting January 1, 2025, Pavesio is set to take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
He formerly served as the Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe, where he reorganized the motorsport department, leading to world championship victories in World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP.
Pavesio will be taking over the position from Jarvis, who has served as Yamaha's leader for 26 years and
Jarvis guided Yamaha to achieve eight rider championships, six manufacturer championships, and seven team championships. He managed the company's peak periods with riders Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, as well as their latest championship win with Fabio Quartararo.
Despite stepping down from his role as managing director, Jarvis will continue to serve Yamaha in the capacity of Senior Advisor.
Takahiro Sumi, who is the General Manager of the Motor Sports Development Division, expressed his gratitude to Lin for his 26 years of dedication and accomplishments, both on a personal level and on behalf of Yamaha.
"His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha’s achievements in MotoGP, and I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise and experience in the future."
Lin will be replaced as Managing Director by Paolo Pavesio. Pavesio has extensive experience from his previous position at YME, where he served as the Marketing and Motorsport Director. During his tenure, he successfully led Yamaha teams to win World Championship titles in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP.
"I am excited about Paolo joining YMR in January and believe that with his guidance, Yamaha will achieve the future success in MotoGP that we all aim for."
