Paolo Pavesio Named as Lin Jarvis’ Successor: Yamaha’s New Managing Director to Take Helm in 2025
Yamaha has announced Paolo Pavesio as the new managing director, taking over from Lin Jarvis in 2025.
Paolo Pavesio has been appointed to take over Lin Jarvis' position at Yamaha.
Starting January 1, 2025, Pavesio is set to take on the role of managing director at Yamaha Motor Racing.
He formerly held the position of Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe, where he reorganized the motorsport department, leading to subsequent world championship victories in World Superbikes, EWC, and MXGP.
Pavesio will be taking over from Jarvis, who has led Yamaha for 26 years and is now stepping down.
Under Jarvis's leadership, Yamaha secured eight rider championships, six constructor championships, and seven team championships. He guided the Japanese company's successful periods with Valentino Rossi and Jorge Lorenzo, and also their latest championship win with Fabio Quartararo.
Despite stepping down from his role as managing director, Jarvis will continue to serve as a Senior Advisor at Yamaha.
Takahiro Sumi, the head of Yamaha's Motor Sports Development Division, expressed his gratitude to Lin for his commitment and accomplishments over the last 26 years, both personally and on behalf of Yamaha.
His dedication, hard work, and leadership have played a crucial role in Yamaha’s achievements in MotoGP, and I am pleased that we will continue to benefit from his expertise in the future.
Paolo Pavesio is set to take over from Lin as Managing Director. Pavesio boasts extensive experience from his tenure at YME, where he served as the Marketing and Motorsport Director and led Yamaha teams to World Championship victories in WorldSBK, EWC, and MXGP.
"I am eager to have Paolo join YMR in January, and I believe that with his guidance, Yamaha will achieve the future victories in MotoGP that we are all working towards."
