Nvidia and DuckDuckGo Back You.com with $50M, Boosting AI Search Start-Up’s Total to $99M in Face of Google and Microsoft Competition
Nvidia and DuckDuckGo have supported the AI search start-up You.com with a substantial investment of $50 million. With this, the total funding of the start-up has reached $99 million. This comes at a time when the AI-driven search market is experiencing increased competition, particularly from major players such as Google and Microsoft.
The new funding raises the enterprise's overall accumulation to $99 million. Georgian, the investor, spearheaded the round, with contributions from SBVA (previously known as Softbank Ventures Asia), Salesforce Ventures, and Day One Ventures. The firm chose not to disclose its most recent valuation.
Socher has ambitions for You.com to be more than just a search engine; he envisions it as a helpful tool for professionals, incorporating AI technology into its services. “Our approach is more than simply providing a list of blue links when a question is asked,” he explained.
At present, Google holds the majority share in the market for brief informational searches, admitted Socher. However, he noted that there is still potential in collaborating with other businesses. According to him, You.com can produce more intricate responses than its rivals, and the service is capable of condensing data from various websites while providing the sources. Additionally, the firm is incorporating the feature of designing personalized AI assistants to aid with professional tasks.
