Nico Rosberg Voices Concern Over Red Bull’s ‘Brain Drain’ Amid Adrian Newey’s Departure
Nico Rosberg expresses concern over Red Bull's "talent loss" as Adrian Newey departs
"Adrian is the mentor and the persona everyone admires"
Nico Rosberg expresses concern over the potential loss of crucial personnel from Red Bull following Adrian Newey's departure.
Chief Technology Officer Newey is set to leave his position early next year, even though his daily duties with the F1 team have significantly decreased already.
The revelation of his significant setback has aligned with a notable decline in performance for Red Bull, who have maintained a leading position since the beginning of 2022.
"Adrian might just be the most brilliant mind to grace F1 in the last four decades," ex-F1 champion Rosberg shared with Sky Sports.
"I'm convinced his influence would be beneficial today if he remained engaged."
"Things have become harder in his absence."
"Moreover, Adrian stands as the inspirational icon and the person whom everyone in the engineering and aerodynamics sector admires."
"His departure hastens the exodus of talent. People think, 'If he's gone, perhaps it's time for me to seek out new opportunities, since working with Adrian was my main reason for staying.'"
"It twirls…"
Jonathan Wheatley is set to depart from his role as sporting director at Red Bull to take on the position of team principal at Audi, while Rob Marshall made the move to McLaren a year prior.
McLaren's chief executive Zak Brown humorously stated that he has gotten several resumes from key personnel at Red Bull.
On the race circuit, Christian Horner's squad is facing greater challenges than anticipated by many.
Horner has openly acknowledged their confusion regarding the RB20's significant performance issues.
Max Verstappen finished in sixth place during the Formula 1 Italian Grand Prix, while Sergio Perez secured the eighth position.
Both McLaren cars, both vehicles from Ferrari, and Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton crossed the finish line before Verstappen.
Rosberg remarked, "Red Bull's pitstops are always flawless; they never make mistakes. It was indicative that even the pitstop encountered issues.
"How is that even happening?" Max found himself trailing the Ferrari by 38 seconds. Can you believe that? And they have no clue why!
This development is something that nobody saw coming.
"I believe they will re-enter the competition in the upcoming few races. However, they have gone off track."
