**MotoGP Rivals Martin and Bagnaia Dismiss Tension Rumors After Indonesian GP**
Francesco Bagnaia and Jorge Martin dismiss allegations of tension following the Indonesian MotoGP
Martin and Bagnaia counter claims of friction during championship battle
Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia have addressed and clarified any perceived friction between them as they compete for the 2024 MotoGP championship in Indonesia.
Pramac racer Martin clinched his third grand prix win of the 2024 season on Sunday in Indonesia, dominating the race by leading every lap from the pole position.
Francesco Bagnaia secured a third-place finish, allowing Martin to widen his championship advantage to 21 points. This came after his lead had been reduced to 12 points following a crash while leading in the sprint race.
Following the sprint, Bagnaia shared with reporters that he believed Martin was entering Turn 16 at an excessive speed, leading to his crash. This remark resulted in a verbal exchange between the two when Martin was questioned about Bagnaia's observation.
Martin's comment, "it's really easy to speak when everything is going good," was perceived as a subtle jab at Bagnaia.
On Sunday, following the grand prix, it first appeared that Martin was disregarding Bagnaia in parc ferme when Bagnaia approached to offer his congratulations. However, the two soon hugged each other.
During the post-race press conference, Bagnaia commented on the incident, saying, "I believe he almost lost control due to the heat while we were talking in the parc ferme."
"There is no relationship between us. During the rider parade this morning, I simply told him the truth."
“I noticed some intense comments on social media, but there was nothing intense about it. I simply acknowledged that he was quicker than me at that particular turn.”
Martin stated that he did not immediately respond to Bagnaia following the grand prix due to being physically exhausted and believes their relationship is good.
"I felt somewhat fatigued," he mentioned.
"Occasionally, he makes a comment, but by the time it reaches me, it's altered. However, it's definitely all in good fun, and what truly matters is that our relationship is strong."
At one point after the race, it seemed Martin’s lead in the championship could be reduced to 17 points because Pedro Acosta, who finished second, was under investigation for potentially violating tire pressure regulations.
The officials later exonerated Acosta, explaining that the detected pressure decrease was due to a leak in the wheel rim.
