### “MotoGP Revolution: Grand Prix Commission Approves Largest Brake Discs for All Circuits
Largest brake discs now permitted at all MotoGP tracks
The Grand Prix Commission has declared that the maximum 340mm front brake discs can now be used at every circuit on the MotoGP schedule.
In the past, the bigger brakes could only be used at three particular locations.
The decision will be appreciated by racers like Valentino Rossi and Cal Crutchlow, who have faced difficulties with braking.
The FIM announced that the Commission has agreed unanimously to change the rules regarding the size of front carbon disc brakes in the MotoGP category for safety reasons.
At present, the rules allow for two different sizes of front carbon brake discs. A 320 mm disc is required at all tracks except for Motegi, where 340 mm discs are compulsory. At Montmelo and Sepang, riders have the choice to use 340 mm discs if they prefer.
Based on advice from the Safety Commission and backed by the brake manufacturers, it has been determined that using 340 mm disc brakes will be optional on all tracks, except for Motegi where it will still be required.
The upcoming MotoGP race will kick off at Mugello before the end of this month.
