Miller and Morbidelli Clash in Jerez: A Heated Exchange Leads to an Early Exit for Both Riders

Jack Miller clarifies incident with Franco Morbidelli: "I never struck him; I was completely taken aback"

"Franky attempted to create space where none existed, leading to both of us ending our race prematurely"

Jack Miller has shared insights into the heated exchange he had with Franco Morbidelli on the gravel at Jerez.

During the Spanish MotoGP last weekend, KTM's Miller found himself in 11th place by the 17th lap before being taken out of the race due to Pramac's Morbidelli's unsuccessful overtaking attempt.

Television footage showed Miller animatedly signaling to Morbidelli as they both stood up.

"Miller mentioned to Motorsport that he wasn't exactly scolded," when he was called to meet with the stewards.

I was reprimanded more for what I did following the incident. However, I didn't strike him, nor did I throw any punches or such.

"Clearly, I was hit and afterward, in the gravel, Franky explained to me the impact of my actions on him from Saturday."

Miller's race at Jerez on Saturday was cut short on the first lap.

He went on to discuss his dispute with Morbidelli, expressing surprise: "I was really taken aback because I told him, 'listen, I was out of the race on the very first lap yesterday, so I'm not sure what else I could have done'."

"I'm unsure if he mistook me for someone else."

"In any case, it wasn't our preference."

Miller acknowledged that he has been closely observing Pedro Acosta, his teammate at KTM, who is rumored to be taking over his spot in the factory team the following year, throughout the Spanish MotoGP event.

"Regrettably, that came to an abrupt end when Franky chose to force his way through a space that didn't exist," Miller commented.

"This led to both of us taking an early shower, which was not how we hoped to conclude the day."

With teammate Brad Binder secured in a long-term deal with KTM, Miller is facing significant scrutiny regarding his position for the 2025 season.

The well-liked Australian currently has a contract that expires at the end of this season, and the exceptional performance of Tech3 GASGAS newcomer Acosta could compel KTM to make a decision.

Miller's previous finishes were 21st, 5th, and 13th before he failed to finish due to a

Currently, he ranks 14th in the MotoGP standings following four races, trailing Binder by 37 points and Acosta by 47 points.
