Marquez’s Misfortune in Misano: Qualifying Crash Dampens Victory Hopes Despite Aragon Triumph
Marc Marquez: "Our weekend was ruined by the crash during qualifying."
Marc Marquez: "We had a lap good enough for the second row. However, beginning from ninth place makes it extremely challenging to pass others here."
Data reveals that in the history of the Misano MotoGP, no competitor has secured a victory starting from a position lower than eighth in the lineup.
Dani Pedrosa's achievement in 2016 stands out, whereas Marc Marquez's victory from seventh place in 2021 is considered the second most remarkable comeback.
Marquez secured his first MotoGP victory in the recent Aragon event, marking his initial win riding a Ducati.
Riding the momentum of a recent win, Marquez immediately became a contender at the Italian circuit, securing the second spot right behind Francesco Bagnaia during Friday's practice session.

"Admittedly, the competition was challenging, yet Alex expressed satisfaction with how Saturday went, highlighting their ability to make a significant improvement during the weekend by making it into Q2 and performing well in the qualifying round, ultimately securing a tenth-place finish."

During the competition on Saturday, every participant chose the soft rear tire, but for the extended race, the medium rear tire will also be an option.
