Marquez Triumphs in MotoGP Aragon Grand Prix Amidst Drama as Bagnaia Crashes Out
At the MotoGP Aragon Grand Prix, Marc Marquez showcased an impressive performance, leading from start to finish, while Pecco Bagnaia encountered a crash involving Alex Marquez.
At the Aragon Grand Prix in MotoGP, Marc Marquez secured his inaugural Grand Prix win after a hiatus of more than 1,000 days, achieving the victory with commanding performance.
Dominating from start to finish, Marquez showcased remarkable speed and ultimately secured victory by nearly five seconds ahead of Jorge Martin.
Martin increased his lead in the championship to 23 points by finishing second, after Francesco Bagnaia was involved in a crash with Alex Marquez, both of whom went down in the incident.
Bagnaia was making significant progress up the ranks following an initial slip due to his rear tyre losing grip on the less clean part of the starting grid. He found himself in seventh place at the outset, climbed to sixth following Miguel Oliveira's fall, advanced to fifth as Franco Morbidelli went off track, and reached fourth after pressuring Pedro Acosta into an error at turn 16.
After several rounds of chasing, Marques made a mistake by veering off the track at the 12th turn, which gave Bagnaia the opportunity to overtake him entering the 13th turn. However, during this maneuver, Bagnaia and Marquez collided, causing both to crash.
Following the race, Bagnaia was taken to the medical center, however, there has been no information released regarding his condition.
The collision moved Pedro Acosta up to third position, though he finished nearly 15 seconds after the victor.
Brad Binder secured a fourth-place finish, while Enea Bastianini made an impressive comeback to fifth place, having begun the race in 14th position. Franco Morbidelli clinched sixth place, followed by Fabio Di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi, Alex Rins, and Jack Miller, who completed the top 10.
Fabio Quartararo experienced a crash, and Maverick Vinales withdrew from the race as well.
After the race, probes were initiated concerning Fabio Di Giannantonio, Jack Miller, and Raul Fernandez regarding the pressure in their front tires.
