Marquez Triumphs in Aragon MotoGP Grand Prix as Bagnaia Crashes Out in Drama-Filled Race
Marc Marquez showcased a commanding performance, leading from start to finish at the MotoGP Aragon Grand Prix, while Pecco Bagnaia's race ended prematurely due to a collision with Alex Marquez.
At the Aragon Grand Prix in the MotoGP series, Marc Marquez clinched his first Grand Prix win in more than 1,000 days, achieving the victory with a commanding lead.
Dominating from start to finish, Marquez showcased remarkable speed and ultimately secured victory, finishing nearly five seconds ahead of Jorge Martin.
Martin increased his lead in the championship to 23 points by finishing second, following Francesco Bagnaia's crash after colliding with Alex Marquez, who also fell due to the same incident.
Bagnaia was making impressive progress through the pack after initially losing traction due to starting on the less clean part of the track. He found himself in seventh place at the onset, climbed to sixth following Miguel Oliveira's crash, advanced to fifth as Franco Morbidelli went off track, and then secured fourth place by pressuring Pedro Acosta into an error at the 16th turn.
After several rounds of pursuit, Marques made an error by veering off track at the twelfth turn, which gave Bagnaia an opportunity to overtake him entering the thirteenth turn. However, during this maneuver, Bagnaia and Marquez collided and both ended up crashing.
Following the race, Bagnaia was taken to the medical facility, but there has been no release of information regarding his status as of now.
The incident between them allowed Pedro Acosta to move up to third place, though he was nearly 15 seconds adrift of the leader.
Brad Binder secured the fourth position, while Enea Bastianini climbed to fifth place from a 14th-place start. Franco Morbidelli finished in sixth place, followed by Fabio Di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi, Alex Rins, and Jack Miller, who completed the top 10.
Fabio Quartararo experienced a crash, and Maverick Vinales withdrew from the race as well.
Following the race, probes were initiated into Fabio Di Giannantonio, Jack Miller, and Raul Fernandez regarding the pressure of their front tyres.
