Marquez Triumphs in Aragon MotoGP as Bagnaia Crashes Out in Dramatic Clash
Marc Marquez showcased his supremacy by leading from start to finish at the MotoGP Aragon Grand Prix, while Pecco Bagnaia's race ended in a crash involving Alex Marquez.
At the Aragon Grand Prix for MotoGP, Marc Marquez secured his initial Grand Prix win in more than 1,000 days, achieving it with a commanding performance.
Dominating from start to finish, Marquez showcased remarkable speed and ultimately triumphed, finishing nearly five seconds ahead of Jorge Martin.
Martin increased his lead in the championship to 23 points by securing second place, following Francesco Bagnaia's crash, which occurred during a collision with Alex Marquez, leading to Marquez also falling in the incident.
Bagnaia made his way up through the ranks after initially losing traction on his rear tyre from the less clean part of the starting grid. He was in seventh position at the beginning, moved up to sixth following Miguel Oliveira's crash, advanced to fifth as Franco Morbidelli went off track, and then climbed to fourth after pressuring Pedro Acosta into an error at the 16th turn.
During an attempt to overtake Marques, who veered off course at turn 12, Bagnaia managed to pass him as they approached turn 13. However, as Bagnaia was navigating turn 13, he collided with Marquez, causing both riders to crash.
Following the race, Bagnaia was taken to the medical center, however, there has been no further information released regarding his health status.
The collision between the two racers elevated Pedro Acosta to third position, though he was nearly 15 seconds off the leader's pace.
Brad Binder secured the fourth position, while Enea Bastianini climbed to fifth place from a 14th-place start. Franco Morbidelli finished in sixth, followed by Fabio Di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi, Alex Rins, and Jack Miller, who completed the top 10.
Fabio Quartararo experienced a crash, and Maverick Vinales decided to withdraw from the race as well.
Investigations were initiated after the race involving Fabio Di Giannantonio, Jack Miller, and Raul Fernandez due to issues with the pressure of their front tyres.
