Marc Marquez Triumphs at Aragon MotoGP, Ends Victory Drought as Bagnaia Crashes Out in Drama-Filled Race
Marc Marquez showcased a commanding performance throughout the MotoGP Aragon Grand Prix, taking the lead from the start and maintaining it till the end, while Pecco Bagnaia's race came to an early conclusion following a collision with Alex Marquez.
At the Aragon Grand Prix for MotoGP, Marc Marquez claimed his first Grand Prix win in more than 1,000 days, achieving the victory with a commanding lead.
Dominating from start to finish, Marquez showcased remarkable speed and ultimately secured victory, finishing nearly five seconds ahead of Jorge Martin.
Martin increased his lead in the championship to 23 points by securing second place, following Francesco Bagnaia's crash during a collision with Alex Marquez, who also fell due to the same incident.
Bagnaia was making rapid progress through the pack, having initially lost traction with his rear tyre on the less clean part of the starting grid. He found himself in seventh position at the outset, moved up to sixth following Miguel Oliveira's fall, advanced to fifth as Franco Morbidelli went off track, and then climbed to fourth after capitalizing on a mistake by Pedro Acosta at turn 16.
Several circuits were completed before catching up to Marques, who veered off course at the twelfth turn, giving Bagnaia an opportunity to overtake him entering the thirteenth turn. However, as Bagnaia was making his move into turn 13, he collided with Marquez, causing both of them to crash.
Following the race, Bagnaia was taken to the medical center, however, there has been no information released regarding his current health status.
The interaction between the two riders elevated Pedro Acosta to third position, though nearly 15 seconds adrift of the leader.
Brad Binder secured the fourth position, while Enea Bastianini made a notable comeback to clinch fifth place, having begun from 14th on the grid. Franco Morbidelli finished in sixth, preceding Fabio Di Giannantonio, Marco Bezzecchi, Alex Rins, and Jack Miller, who completed the top ten.
Fabio Quartararo experienced a crash, and Maverick Vinales also withdrew from the race.
After the race, inquiries were initiated concerning Fabio Di Giannantonio, Jack Miller, and Raul Fernandez due to issues related to the pressure in their front tyres.
