Marc Marquez Dismisses Pramac Move, Sets Sights on Ducati Factory Team for 2025 MotoGP Season
Marc Marquez clarifies his intentions for team placement: "Pramac isn't a choice for me"
Marc Marquez dismisses the possibility of joining Pramac, emphasizing his desire for a Ducati factory seat.
Marc Marquez has confirmed that a move to Pramac Ducati for the 2025 MotoGP season is off the table, with rumors suggesting Jorge Martin is nearing a deal to join Francesco Bagnaia on the factory team.
Pramac has yet to officially confirm if they will maintain their partnership with Ducati, amidst ongoing speculation about a potential switch to Yamaha.
Marquez is prioritizing joining a factory team with a bike numbered 25 as he aims to compete for another MotoGP championship.
Italian media outlets suggest Martin is the top choice to join the Ducati factory team, but Marquez, when questioned about these speculations, indicated he has not received any updates regarding the decision.
In a conversation with MotoGP.com, Marquez mentioned, "Currently, the updates from Ducati don't reflect that. They haven't communicated it to me in that manner.
"Regardless of the situation, I am committed to giving my all on the racetrack, aiming to achieve the best possible results. By doing so, I believe I will open up more opportunities or chances for various positions."
"Let's check if we're able to maintain our momentum from the previous races."
This prompted inquiries about potentially stepping in for Martin at Pramac, but Marquez clarified that such a move is off the table.
"Pramac has demonstrated impressive capabilities, as evidenced by Martin's performance. They possess significant potential, although it doesn't align with my choices."
From the start of the season, Marquez has openly expressed his desire for a switch to a factory team in 2025.
Consequently, Marquez might depart from Ducati following a single season if he stands by his statement, and should Ducati decide in favor of Martin.
Marquez mentioned, "As I've pointed out since three races back, my aim is to get my hands on the newest model of the bike."
"Making this the top focus is key, and it's even more advantageous if it's within a factory team. To compete for the championship, my goal, being fully prepared across the board and securing the right resources is essential."
"Being part of a factory team grants you access to more resources, and having the newest model of the bike amplifies those resources even further. Getting the latest bike model is the top priority."
