**”Lewis Hamilton’s Arrival at Ferrari in 2025 Set to Spark Team Renaissance, Says Former F1 Engineer Rob Smedley”**
Lewis Hamilton is expected to spark positive changes at Ferrari
It is anticipated that Ferrari will elevate their performance when Lewis Hamilton joins the team in the 2025 Formula 1 season.
Lewis Hamilton is expected to spark positive changes when he joins Ferrari in the 2025 F1 season.
Former Formula 1 engineer Rob Smedley suggests that Hamilton joining Ferrari might significantly improve the team's performance.
The seven-time world champion has decided to leave Mercedes and will make a high-profile move to Ferrari next season.
Smedley, who was employed by Ferrari from 2004 to 2013, believes that the Italian team will "step up their performance" when Hamilton becomes a part of their lineup.
"I’m very confident about Lewis’s arrival; I believe his presence will spark positive developments," Smedley mentioned on the Formula For Success podcast.
"I believe the team will support him. If you come in with a strong track record like Lewis, the team will rally behind you. The team will undoubtedly show their support."
"Lewis also needs to contribute by actively engaging with the team and fully embracing its culture, rather than remaining on the sidelines. If he manages to do this, he will be adored by everyone. Truly, he will be seen as extraordinary."
"The team will probably believe they can improve their performance by an extra one or two percent because they will gain confidence, correct?"
"A seven-time World Champion has opted to join your team, leaving behind a team where he's spent essentially his entire career, especially considering the engine partnership. He's stepping away from that extensive legacy to be a part of your team."
"That significantly enhances your confidence. If everyone puts in just a bit more effort or thinks a bit more strategically, remarkable outcomes can be achieved."
Rob Smedley, who served as Felipe Massa's race engineer at Ferrari for many years and later joined him at Williams, believes it is the correct choice for Lewis Hamilton and his race engineer, Peter 'Bono' Bonnington, to end their partnership after 12 years together.
Smedley clarified that when a driver of Lewis's caliber, a seven-time World Champion, selects your team, there is no need for him to come with a large group of people.
"I have consistently mentioned this in public, not only concerning Lewis but also regarding individuals such as Bono. I believe it's quite risky to trail the driver in that manner."
"If the driver loses support or chooses to leave after a year, he can't bring his team along. Therefore, I believe Lewis made the correct decision."
“It’s clear he would have his 'Team LH' entourage, including his management team and trainers, but trying to bring engineers along might have been a mistake.”
