**”Lewis Hamilton ‘Right Back in the Game’ and Targeting 2024 Championship Battle with Ferrari, Says Eddie Jordan”**
Lewis Hamilton "returns to top form" and "sets sights on championship battle" with Ferrari
"I believe Lewis has regained his top form. He is now focusing on a championship battle for the upcoming year."
Renowned Formula 1 team principal Eddie Jordan asserts that Lewis Hamilton has regained his top form.
Hamilton is currently one of the standout drivers in Formula 1, having secured wins in two of the most recent three races.
In the past eight races, just Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri have accumulated more points than the seven-time world champion.
Mercedes' performance improved following an upgrade in Monaco, which resulted in George Russell securing the team's first podium finish at the subsequent race.
Russell secured victory in Austria, whereas Hamilton triumphed at both Silverstone and Spa.
Earlier this year, Jordan raised doubts about Hamilton's drive following his decision to move to Ferrari in 2025.
However, considering Mercedes' progress, Jordan now thinks that Hamilton has returned to peak performance.
During an appearance on the Formula for Success podcast, he mentioned, "In my opinion, Lewis was undoubtedly focused at the start of the year on joining Ferrari, assembling the right team, and ensuring Fred Vasseur's support."
"Ferrari is expected to be a major contender next year, and they will be thrilled to witness Lewis's return to form. Despite any assurances to Ferrari like, 'Look at what we're achieving at Mercedes, there's no need to be concerned, we can defeat George, we can beat everyone, we're going to be strong."
"The Mercedes team is expected to be formidable in the future, but Ferrari is anticipated to be exceptionally strong."
"I believe Lewis has regained his top form and is now aiming for a championship battle next year. Who can say he's mistaken?"
Hamilton is aiming to bring Ferrari its first F1 championship in years by winning the title in 2025.
Ferrari has not clinched the drivers' championship title since 2007, and it seems improbable that they will break that streak this year with either Charles Leclerc or Carlos Sainz.
At the beginning of the year, they were the second-fastest team, but McLaren and Mercedes have since surpassed them.
Ferrari's enhancements for the Spanish Grand Prix were ineffective, as the car experienced bouncing again in fast corners.
