Leclerc Eager for Epic Showdown: Anticipates Hamilton Partnership at Ferrari in 2025
Charles Leclerc is eager to see how he measures up against Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton when both are driving the same car at Ferrari.
Charles Leclerc expressed his excitement and eagerness to see how he measures up against Formula 1 icon Lewis Hamilton when they join forces at Ferrari.
Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton is set to leave Mercedes and join Ferrari in 2025, partnering with Charles Leclerc. This move will see Hamilton taking over the spot currently occupied by Carlos Sainz, who will be transferring to Williams.
There is a lot of excitement and anticipation about the transfer. Leclerc, who has won seven grand prix races, is eager to see how he compares to F1’s most accomplished driver when they have the same equipment.
Leclerc expressed his keen interest in discovering the key actions that have led to the consistent success throughout his career, as he mentioned to ESPN.
"He has almost no weaknesses—actually, I can't think of any flaws in Lewis. He's an incredibly strong driver, always present, extremely fast, and consistently reliable."
"It will be incredibly fascinating for me to examine the data and realize that I can replicate whatever he does, since we are using identical cars."
"Indeed, you do gain insights from observing other drivers, but when I examine his data and see that he is significantly quicker in one corner with the Mercedes, I still question whether my car can perform the same way. However, next year, this uncertainty will be eliminated. This will be a significant change."
"I'm really excited to both learn from Lewis and demonstrate my own abilities while driving the same car as him. These two aspects are highly motivating for me."
Leclerc mentioned that he has been becoming more acquainted with Hamilton ever since it was announced that they will be teammates next season.
"We were already quite familiar with each other, and after the Ferrari announcement, we became even closer. However, we had known each other beforehand and often discussed our shared interests, such as music and fashion. He is a very creative individual, much like myself," he stated.
"We discuss more than just racing; in fact, since the Ferrari announcement, our conversations have centered more on our shared interests outside of racing. This is because he remains fully committed to his season with Mercedes, and I am equally dedicated to my role with Ferrari."
"Everything is good; we have a strong relationship, and I believe it will remain that way. I've never had issues with any teammate, and even though it will be a tough competition, our primary focus is to work for Ferrari. There are no uncertainties about that."
"He is extremely professional, and I hold him in high regard. We have established a strong rapport."
