Lando Norris Points Finger at Lewis Hamilton for First-Lap Sprint Race Crash in Miami

Lando Norris has pointed the finger at Lewis Hamilton, holding him responsible for the collision that concluded his Miami sprint race at its outset.

Lando Norris has made it clear that he holds Lewis Hamilton responsible for the collision that led to his withdrawal from the F1 Miami Grand Prix sprint race.

The McLaren competitor was eliminated in the first lap following a collision with Lance Stroll, which occurred after Stroll and his Aston Martin colleague, Fernando Alonso, made contact at Turn 1.

Hamilton made a bold move, diving inside and pushing Alonso towards Stroll, resulting in the Canadian colliding with Norris.

Norris immediately ceased competing and Stroll was similarly forced to drop out, whereas Alonso suffered a tire puncture that spoiled his race, culminating in a 17th place finish.

Hamilton crossed the finish line in eighth place but was relegated to 16th position after receiving a 20-second penalty for exceeding the speed limit in the pit lane while the Safety Car was deployed.

After the competition, Norris was certain that the blame lay with the seven-time world champion.

"Clearly, Lewis made a move on the inside and was responsible for the incident," Norris explained to F1TV.

"There was no action I could take in response to that."

The officials concluded that no additional measures would be taken regarding the incident at Turn 1.

Alonso conveyed to DAZN his belief that Hamilton would escape penalty due to not being Spanish.

The Spanish driver, expressing frustration over the penalty given to him during the sprint race at the Chinese Grand Prix, remarked, “I believe his actions spoiled the race for several drivers, particularly Norris, who was driving a remarkably quick car and got caught up in that mishap.”

Norris is optimistic that his car has sustained minimal damage before the qualifying round for the Miami Grand Prix on Sunday.

"Norris mentioned, "I can't confirm if there's any damage, but I believe all is well."

"It seems my wheel rim had completely disappeared. Initially, I believed it was merely damage to the suspension, but there was no use in attempting to return the car to a race that offered minimal points and risk causing more harm. Therefore, it was wiser to simply exit the vehicle."
