JPMorgan appoints Kwang Kam Shing as the new CEO for Hong Kong, succeeding Harshika Patel. Kwang will continue her role as the Chair of North Asia and will be under the supervision of Sjoerd Leenart, the CEO of Asia-Pacific.
JPMorgan has appointed Kwang Kam Shing as the new CEO for its Hong Kong operations, replacing Harshika Patel. However, Patel will continue to lead the company's Asia Private Bank.
Kwang is set to be supervised by Sjoerd Leenart, the CEO of Asia-Pacific, and will be responsible for managing local governance, coordination, and controls. In addition to this, she will persist in promoting staff and community involvement in the Hong Kong branch, as per information gathered from an internal note viewed by the Post on Friday.
She is set to succeed Patel, who held the position of CEO in Hong Kong for a triennium. Patel, in turn, succeeded Kwang as the chief executive officer of the Asia Private Bank in October of the previous year.
"We express our thanks for the significant influence Harshika has had on her position throughout her three years of service. Harshika's guidance, vitality and enthusiasm have been genuinely exceptional," Leenart remarked in the note dispatched on Friday.
Leenart further stated that Kwang "will continue the exceptional work initiated by Harshika".
