Kemi Badenoch is set to declare that the Conservative Party cannot regain the British public's confidence merely by highlighting Labour's flaws.
At her campaign kickoff for the Conservative Party leadership on Monday, the ex-Business Secretary will criticize the current administration for not providing a superior alternative.
Yet, even as she enumerates various critiques such as accusing someone of deceiving the UK public about the nation's financial condition, she will assert that these actions will not secure her party's victory in the upcoming election.
"Ms. Badenoch will state, 'If the Conservatives aim to regain the trust of the British public, we cannot merely linger on criticizing Labour, enjoyable though that may be.'"
"It's time to move beyond the policy debates of the previous legislature. We were defeated. We do not hold authority."
Labour is bound to falter, and when it does, as the British public seeks a new direction, we must become that transformation.
"We need to concentrate on rejuvenation. This includes the rejuvenation of our party, our political approach, and our mindset."

In July, the Conservative Party experienced its most significant general election loss in history, paving the way for a Labour government to take office for the first time in over a decade.

Ms. Badenoch, widely regarded as the preferred candidate among conservatives, is competing with five others for the position vacated by Rishi Sunak: Robert Jenrick, James Cleverly, Dame Priti Patel, Tom Tugendhat, and Mel Stride.
Mr. Cleverly is set to deliver a speech on Monday, coinciding with parliament's resumption after the summer break. In his address, he will urge his party to "think and act like Conservatives again," advocating for a reduction in the size of government.
He will assert that the Tories need to "organize effectively" to offer solutions for "a volatile global environment, widespread migration, and a growing distrust in capitalism."
