Kemi Badenoch will assert that the Conservatives cannot regain the confidence of the British public merely by highlighting Labour's shortcomings.
At the inauguration of her campaign for Conservative leadership on Monday, the ex-Business Secretary will criticize the current administration for not presenting improved solutions.
However, even though she will enumerate several complaints, such as "deceiving the British public about the condition of the UK's financial situation," she will assert that these actions will not aid her party in securing victory in the upcoming election.
"Ms. Badenoch will state, 'If the Conservatives aim to regain the trust of the British public, we cannot merely linger on criticizing Labour, however enjoyable that might be.'"
"We need to move beyond the policy debates of the previous session. We were defeated. We do not hold authority."
Labour will be unsuccessful, and when that moment arrives, with the British populace seeking a new direction, we must be that new direction.
"We need to concentrate on rejuvenation. The rejuvenation of our party, our political approaches, and our mindset."
