JPMorgan Appoints Kwang Kam Shing as New Hong Kong CEO, Succeeding Harshika Patel: Continuation of Leadership Excellence
JPMorgan has appointed Kwang Kam Shing as the new CEO for its Hong Kong branch, taking over from Harshika Patel. Despite the new position, Kwang will continue to serve as the chair of North Asia and will be directly accountable to Sjoerd Leenart, the CEO of Asia-Pacific.
JPMorgan has appointed Kwang Kam Shing as the new CEO for its Hong Kong branch, succeeding Harshika Patel. Patel, however, will continue to lead the company's Asia Private Bank.
Kwang is set to answer directly to Sjoerd Leenart, the Chief Executive Officer for Asia-Pacific, and will be responsible for managing local governance, coordination, and controls. In addition to these duties, she will carry on promoting staff and community involvement within the Hong Kong division, as per the details of an internal notice viewed by the Post last Friday.
She will succeed Patel, who held the position of Hong Kong CEO for a span of three years. Patel had assumed the role of CEO of the Asia Private Bank from Kwang in October of the previous year.
"We express our appreciation for the significant contribution Harshika has made during her three-year term. Her leadership, enthusiasm, and fervor have been genuinely exceptional," Leenart stated in the memorandum distributed on Friday.
Leenart further mentioned that Kwang "will continue the exceptional work already started by Harshika".
