Jorge Martin Eyes Lucrative Factory Ducati Deal Amidst MotoGP Success: A Quest for Respect and Reward

Published

on

Jorge Martin is pursuing a significant salary increase for his elevation to a Ducati factory team position. "He's aiming for the recognition that comes with a factory contract, including the corresponding financial compensation of a factory rider."

Jorge Martin is looking forward to a significant increase in his income with the anticipation of being elevated to Ducati's premier team.

Pramac competitor Martin issued a caution to Ducati at the start of this year, stating he would leave the brand if not elevated by 2025.

Martin was passed over for the 2024 position in favor of Enea Bastianini and, during the last race of the previous season, failed to secure the championship, a victory that would have guaranteed his advancement to the prestigious red team.

While Martin and Francesco Bagnaia may both compete on similar bikes under the Pramac banner, the key distinction between them has been highlighted.

"Martin just requires the official team motorcycle," commented Neil Hodgson on TNT Sports.

He desires recognition through a formal factory contract and seeks compensation akin to that of a factory-supported rider.

"If he agrees to a deal to join the factory team, his earnings will quadruple compared to this year's salary. That's his goal.

"He's a flawless type of cyclist, embodying the complete package."

"He has the capability to lead and secure victories, demonstrating a bold approach. He possesses the sai-allcreator.com">kill to clock rapid lap times independently, without the necessity of trailing behind others."

Martin is currently at the top of the MotoGP leaderboard following four races, holding a 17-point advantage over the current champion, Bagnaia.

It's reported that Bagnaia's annual earnings have reached approximately €7 million (£6 million) following his agreement to a fresh contract with Ducati, which extends his commitment to the brand through to the close of 2026.

However, his income might surpass €10 million (£8.5 million) when considering potential bonuses.

Despite having access to a factory-spec motorcycle, Martin, who rides for a satellite team, receives significantly lower compensation.

Nonetheless, the income of these two competitors pales in comparison to that of Fabio Quartararo. With a recent contract renewal, the Yamaha racer's annual salary has surged to €12 million, positioning him as the top earner in MotoGP.
