Jack Miller’s MotoGP Revival: Set to Sign with Pramac Yamaha for 2025 Season
Stunning development as Jack Miller nears agreement with new MotoGP team
Jack Miller on the verge of securing new MotoGP contract to revive his career
Reports suggest that Jack Miller will continue to compete in MotoGP in 2025, with an upcoming announcement about his move to Pramac Yamaha expected soon.
It seemed that the four-time grand prix champion's career in MotoGP would conclude after the 2024 season, following their departure from the KTM team.
At the British Grand Prix weekend, he informed the gathered press that he hadn't received any MotoGP offers, and there were earlier reports before the Silverstone event suggesting Ducati had proposed a contract for him in the World Superbike series.
During the British Grand Prix, Miller and his manager, Aki Ajo, were seen departing the Pramac hospitality area. It is believed they were discussing Miller's possible comeback to the team, which is set to become a Yamaha satellite squad next year.
As reported by motosans.es, the agreement has been finalized, and Miller is set to team up with Miguel Oliveira at the Pramac team, riding factory Yamaha bikes in 2025.
According to Sky Italia, Miller is "nearing" an agreement to sign a contract with Pramac.
Miller competed with Pramac on a Ducati from 2018 to 2020, and then advanced to the official Ducati team in 2021, partnering with current two-time world champion Francesco Bagnaia.
Initially, his name was associated with Pramac when the news broke about its transition to Yamaha. However, it appeared more probable that a newcomer from Moto2 would secure the second satellite M1.
Miller was also associated with Trackhouse, but it seems that the American team will have Ai Ogura and Raul Fernandez racing for them in 2025.
As reported by es.motorsport.com, the Linfox group from Australia, which owns Phillip Island, engaged in discussions with Gresini regarding acquiring the satellite Ducati team, a move that would have ensured Miller remained in the competition.
According to reports, Nadia Padovani turned down the buyout proposal and closed off a potential rescue opportunity for Miller.
One reason believed to be behind Dorna's interest in retaining Miller for the 2025 MotoGP season is their aim to diversify the lineup, although Miller has consistently stated that he doesn't want a spot on the team solely because of his nationality.
Over the past ten years, Miller has played a crucial role as a development rider.
He pioneered the use of Ducati's early ride height systems during his time at Pramac and remained involved in testing new components for the Italian manufacturer even after he had secured a contract with KTM's factory team.
Highly valued by the Pramac team, Miller's familiarity with Honda, Ducati, and KTM bikes, along with Oliveira's expertise with KTM and Aprilia, will significantly benefit Yamaha as it works on its recovery.
Miller is set to work once again with Yamaha’s technical director, Max Bartolini, with whom he had collaborated during his time at Ducati.
