Ineos Grenadier: An In-Depth Look at the SUV's Interior
Plentiful tactile controls paired with meticulous assembly detail
The market for authentic off-road vehicles is shrinking. With many models being discontinued or evolving into more "refined" SUVs, the traditional off-roader is becoming rare. Or they come with a hefty price tag, such as the Mercedes G-Class.
Fortunately, the Toyota Land Cruiser and Land Rover Defender are still around. However, for those who miss the classic Defender, there's a new option available: the Ineos Grenadier. This model boasts a boxy design and straightforward build, making it a unique presence in the market with an equally distinctive interior.

The Dashboard
While the current trend is to minimize physical controls and consolidate all functions into screens, the Ineos takes a different approach. Buttons and levers are abundantly found on the Grenadier's dashboard, which draws its inspiration from jet cockpits, even including the console positioned above the passengers.
All controls are physically operable, ensuring easy use even when wearing work gloves. Additionally, these controls are not concealed within sub-menus. There is also a central 12.3-inch display for the infotainment system that is compatible with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and comes with an off-road navigation system that has the capability to record your return route.
The Suzuki Jimny will soon be off the market.
Additionally, there is a substantial plastic handle on the passenger side that provides a secure grip during vigorous off-road excursions.
Construction and Components
The Ineos off-road vehicle boasts not only hard plastic polymers but also incorporates leather and satin-finished steel elements, delivering an aura of meticulous craftsmanship and, more significantly, durability. The Recaro seats are crafted from a resilient, washable fabric, with leather seating available as an additional option.

Overall, the quality is exceptional and the assembly robust. You get the impression of being in a vehicle designed for enduring use.
Interior Space
The boxy design of the Ineos Grenadier enhances the interior space, providing ample headroom for passengers. The seating is equally comfortable in both the front and back, with a spacious boot that ranges from 1,152 to 2,035 liters in volume. The loading sill is quite high at 90 cm, and the split rear doors that open in a 70:30 ratio are convenient and offer easy access, although they may be obstructive in parking lots.
Ineos Grenadier, the rugged utility vehicle
The truck bed offers ample and flat space, complete with side rails for more efficient storage of luggage and gear. This is particularly true for the model with five seats, although there is also a seven-seat option available for those who need it.
