Huawei-Backed Aito EV Brand Challenges Tesla Model Y with Semi-Autonomous SUV: M9 Model Paves the Way for Future Partnerships
The Aito EV brand, supported by Huawei, is targeting Tesla Model Y with a semi-autonomous SUV. The vehicle features technologies developed by Huawei, with the company's executive stating that they plan to provide these technologies to additional electric vehicle manufacturers in the future.
The M9, priced at 469,800 yuan (equivalent to US$65,981), showcases a decade of technological advancements by Huawei and sets the foundation for the company to partner with more electric vehicle manufacturers in the future, according to Richard Yu Chengdong, the head of the consumer business division of the company. He made this statement at a product launch in Shenzhen on Tuesday.
"Our aim is to ensure a larger audience can utilize top-notch and reasonably priced intelligent automotive technologies," he stated. "The introduction of the M9 model signifies a fresh beginning for us, as we put painstaking efforts into the crafting of each component of the vehicle."
The vehicle is available in two versions: a solely electric model with a maximum distance of 630km per charge, and a long-range variant capable of covering up to 1,362km.
