Honor Dethrones Samsung to Lead Western Europe’s Foldable Smartphone Market: A Milestone in the Rise of Huawei’s Spin-off
Honor surpasses Samsung to become the leading brand in western Europe's foldable smartphone industry. This Huawei offshoot has, for the first time, earned the top position in the region, which is the second biggest market for foldable phones after China.
Honor, a smartphone company from China, has outperformed Samsung Electronics to claim the top spot as the leading manufacturer of foldable phones in Western Europe, as per the statistics from the market research firm Counterpoint Research.
Honor, a subsidiary of Huawei Technologies, topped the charts for the first time in Q2. Western Europe, being the second biggest market for foldable phones after China, is a hotly contested area for numerous competitors including Motorola, Oppo, OnePlus, and Google, as revealed by a recent report from Counterpoint.
Honor, the company that released its much-loved book-like Magic V2 globally in September of the previous year, experienced a 455% increase in its worldwide foldable deliveries in the second quarter. This was the greatest annual growth observed across all brands, as indicated by the report.
Worldwide, Huawei, Honor's local competitor, retained its position as the top brand for foldable phones for the second quarter in a row, largely due to its robust performance in the Chinese market, as per a separate report by Counterpoint.
