Honor Dethrones Samsung to Emerge as Top Foldable Smartphone Vendor in Western Europe
Honor surpasses Samsung to become the leading contender in Western Europe's foldable smartphone market. For the first time, the ex-subsidiary of Huawei has garnered the top position in Western Europe, which is the second biggest market for foldable phones following China.
Honor, a Chinese smartphone company, has outperformed Samsung Electronics and emerged as the top manufacturer of foldable phones in Western Europe, as per the data shared by the industry consulting firm, Counterpoint Research.
Honor, a subsidiary of Huawei Technologies, became the leading brand for the first time in the second quarter. Western Europe, the second biggest market for foldable phones after China, is a competitive arena for brands such as Motorola, Oppo, OnePlus, and Google, as per a recent report from Counterpoint.
Honor, the company that introduced its widely loved book-style Magic V2 to international markets last September, witnessed a surge in its worldwide foldable deliveries by 455% in the second quarter, marking the biggest annual increase among all brands, according to the report.
Across the world, Honor's local competitor Huawei has maintained its position as the top brand for folding phones for the second quarter in a row, thanks to its strong market presence in China, as per a separate report by Counterpoint.
