Honor surpasses Samsung to become the leading brand in the foldable smartphone market in Western Europe
The Huawei offshoot secured this position for the first time in Western Europe, which is the second biggest market for foldable phones after China.
Honor, a smartphone company from China, has outperformed Samsung Electronics, taking the lead as the top producer of foldable devices in Western Europe, as per the information provided by Counterpoint Research, a market research firm.
Honor, an offshoot of Huawei Technologies, became the leading brand for the first time in Q2. Western Europe, ranking second to China in the foldable phone market, is a competitive arena for companies like Motorola, Oppo, OnePlus, and Google, as per a recent Counterpoint analysis.
The globally renowned brand Honor, released its well-liked book-like Magic V2 outside of China in the previous September. According to a report, its global shipments of foldable devices increased by a whopping 455% in the second quarter, marking the most significant annual growth across all brands.
Worldwide, Huawei, Honor's local competitor, retained its position as the top foldable-phone brand for the second quarter in a row. This achievement was mainly due to its impressive performance in the Chinese market, as per a separate report from Counterpoint.
