Honor Dethrones Samsung: Ascends to Top Spot in Western Europe’s Foldable Smartphone Market
Honor surpasses Samsung to become the leading brand in Western Europe's foldable smartphone market. This is the first time that the offshoot of Huawei has achieved this feat in Western Europe, which is the second biggest market for foldable phones after China.
Honor, a smartphone company from China, has outdone Samsung Electronics to become the leading manufacturer of foldable devices in Western Europe, as per data from the industry consulting firm, Counterpoint Research.
Honor, a subsidiary of Huawei Technologies, achieved the top position for the first time in Quarter 2. Western Europe, being the second-largest market for foldable phones after China, is a highly competitive field for companies like Motorola, Oppo, OnePlus, and Google, as stated in a recent report by Counterpoint.
Honor, who introduced its well-liked book-like Magic V2 internationally last September, experienced a 455 per cent surge in worldwide foldable deliveries during the second quarter, the most significant annual increase among all brands, according to the report.
Worldwide, Honor's local competitor Huawei has maintained its position as the top foldable-phone brand for two straight quarters due to its robust performance in the Chinese market, as per a separate report by Counterpoint.
