Yvette Cooper has declared a swift examination of radical behavior in response to the tumultuous unrest that occurred in various UK towns and cities this past summer.
The Home Secretary, in revealing the review, also charged the demonstrators, who erupted onto the streets following the deadly knifing of three young girls in Southport, with "exploiting sorrow."

She additionally committed to increasing the ranks of local police and support officers by "thousands" as a component of five "next steps" aimed at enhancing community unity.
Addressing the House of Commons on Monday, Ms. Cooper remarked, "As countless honorable individuals nationwide offered prayers for families in mourning, a small faction of criminals and radicals merely viewed it as a chance to exploit a community's sorrow."
On July 29, in a Merseyside town, three young girls, six-year-old Bebe King, nine-year-old Alice Dasilva Aguiar, and seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe, tragically lost their lives during a dance class themed around Taylor Swift.
The unrest erupted following the spread of baseless online claims suggesting that the accused was a refugee who had entered the UK by sea.
Ms. Cooper expressed her longstanding worries that adequate measures were not being taken to address extremism, encompassing both Islamist and far-right ideologies.
She asserted that since 2015, there was a lack of an effective plan, stating: "I have commissioned an urgent assessment of extremist activities to guarantee that we have the most robust countermeasures against toxic beliefs that undermine the unity of our communities and weaken the structure of our democratic society."
Ms. Cooper declared a review of the police response, stating that their operational systems were "insufficiently robust."
She stated that the review will examine insights from the riots to guarantee that "effective coordination and smart systems are established, and that adequate public order policing is available moving forward."
