Historic Triumph: Gresini Team Manager Hails Marquez’s Spectacular Aragon MotoGP Comeback

Gresini MotoGP team leader praises the "amazing" Aragon MotoGP weekend, stating, "I believe we have made history together."

Michele Masini, who manages the Gresini Racing team, has shared his views on a landmark weekend for the Italian team, highlighted by Marc Marquez's win.

Although Gresini had already secured numerous victories in MotoGP, seeing an eight-time World Champion clinch a win on their bike after nearly three years was a cause for celebration, according to Masini.

He mentioned to MotoGP.com that they need to throw the most spectacular party ever.

"We definitely made history as a team. His return to victory with us is unbelievable, especially on such a remarkable weekend where he was the fastest in all the practice sessions, secured pole position, won the Sprint, clinched the race, and set the fastest lap. The entire weekend was just phenomenal."

According to Masini, Marquez just stated "we won" upon reaching a highly emotional parc ferme.

"It's hard to put into words, but I think nearly everyone shed a few tears today, as it's a memorable day for all," Masini remarked.

"In a sense, today marks the beginning of the remainder of the championship. We aim to head to Misano with a clear focus on constant improvement. This weekend has been incredible so far, and I hope we can maintain this momentum in the upcoming races."

Is it possible for the Marquez Gresini team to achieve additional wins before the year concludes? Masini expressed optimism, stating: “I hope so. That’s our goal.”

This weekend, the MotoGP World Championship will continue at Misano, the track where Marquez last won a race before his recent victory in Aragon, back in 2021.
