Red Bull addressed regarding Max Verstappen's future plans
Helmut Marko declined to comment on which team Max Verstappen will drive for in 2026.
Red Bull is currently grappling with an unusual dip in their performance following a turbulent year.
Despite maintaining their lead in both the drivers' and constructors' championships, their dominance is beginning to wane.
The once-leading team is facing another unwanted diversion with the uncertainty surrounding star driver Verstappen's future.
Red Bull's Marko was questioned, "Have you determined which team Max will be driving for in the 2025 and 2026 seasons?"
In a statement to OE24, he confirmed that next year he will be racing for Red Bull Racing.
A subsequent inquiry: "What about the year 2026?"
Marko commented, "Well… that's quite a way off. Right now, we're completely focused on the 2024 championship."
Verstappen has a highly profitable agreement with Red Bull that extends until the year 2028.
Throughout the year, there have been ongoing speculations regarding his future.
The controversy involving Christian Horner earlier this year also implicated Marko, which momentarily jeopardized Verstappen's future.
Toto Wolff, the head of the Mercedes team, has frequently expressed his respect for Verstappen.
Horner has had to tell Wolff to back off.
Mercedes are expected to become a popular team in 2026 with the introduction of new Formula 1 regulations.
It is anticipated that their engine might make other teams in the F1 grid envious.
Mercedes has announced that Kimi Antonelli will take over from Lewis Hamilton, joining George Russell on the team.
Wolff emphasized that Antonelli and Russell would be their primary duo for the foreseeable future.
Nonetheless, the rumors surrounding Verstappen are expected to persist until Red Bull's on-track performance sees significant improvement.
