Bagnaia and Marquez were seen making angry gestures towards each other in the gravel, but initially, it seemed they had escaped serious harm.
Marquez veered off track, holding onto third place with six laps left.
Starting from the fourth spot, Bagnaia attempted to pass him.
Bagnaia's Ducati appeared to be closely trailing right behind Marquez's.
The two bicycles became entangled and veered off the path.
For a few moments, Bagnaia found himself trapped under Marquez's Ducati during their slide.
However, he stood up and motioned towards Marquez, indicating that he was fine.
He moved off, his leathers scratched and worn on his arm, yet possibly lucky that the harm wasn't more severe.
Bagnaia visited the medical facility for an examination.
Less than half an hour after their accident, Bagnaia and Marquez could be seen wandering through the paddock, no longer in their racing suits, and appearing to be without injuries.
Stewards are conducting an investigation into the incident.
Defending MotoGP titleholder Bagnaia began Sunday three points behind the current championship frontrunner, Jorge Martin.
Martin's second-place finish at the Aragon MotoGP on Sunday has put him in the lead of the championship, now ahead by 23 points.
Marc Marquez emerged victorious in the race.
