Gresini MotoGP team's leader praises the amazing weekend at Aragon MotoGP
"We truly created history as a team."
Gresini Racing's team manager, Michele Masini, shared his insights on an unforgettable weekend for the Italian team, highlighted by Marc Marquez's triumphant win.
Gresini's MotoGP team had experienced victories before, but the moment an eight-time World Champion clinched a win on their motorcycle nearly three years since his previous triumph was a cause for jubilation, according to Masini.
"He emphasized the need for an unparalleled celebration," he conveyed to MotoGP.com.
"I believe we've created history as a team. His return to victory with us marks an extraordinary achievement, especially given the fantastic weekend he had. He dominated every practice session, secured the pole position, triumphed in the Sprint, won the race, and recorded the fastest lap. Truly remarkable. The entire weekend was spectacular."
Masini reported that upon reaching the emotionally charged parc ferme, Marquez's only words were, "we won."
"Masini expressed, "There were so many emotions, it's hard to put into words. I believe everyone was moved to tears today, a day that will be unforgettable for all of us."
"Moreover, today marks the beginning of what feels like the remainder of the season, as our goal is to head into Misano with a solid plan for constant enhancement. Thus far, the weekend has been extraordinary, and I'm optimistic about maintaining this momentum in the upcoming races."
Is it possible for the collaboration between Marquez and Gresini to lead to additional wins before the year concludes? In response, Masini stated: "That's the goal. We're aiming for that."
The upcoming MotoGP World Championship race is set to take place this weekend at Misano, marking the location of Marquez's most recent win prior to his success at Aragon, which occurred in 2021.
