Germany Confirms MotoGP Presence for Five More Years, Circuit Decision Pending
Germany ensures its MotoGP presence for five more years, though the race location remains undecided.
The Sachsenring is the present location for the event, however, Dorna's CEO, Carmelo Ezpeleta, mentioned, "In the coming weeks, we along with the ADAC are planning to jointly reveal the future location for the German MotoGP race."
Hermann Tomczyk, President of Sports at ADAC, stated: "The Motorbike Grand Prix ranks among the most attended sporting events in Germany. It brings us great joy to announce that the German leg of the World Championship will continue for another five years. This ensures that the premier motorcycle racers globally will compete on German circuits through at least 2021.
"I want to express my gratitude towards Dorna for their outstanding partnership, as well as to our team for their dedication in recent months towards ensuring the continuation of the German Motorcycle Grand Prix. We are nearing the final stages of discussions with Sachsenring to host the event for the upcoming five years. We anticipate receiving approval from our associates in Saxony by the latest mid-August."
