The United Kingdom has transported its first unsuccessful asylum applicant to Rwanda as part of a voluntary program.

The program targets individuals who have completed the asylum procedure and have been denied authorization, as opposed to migrants who have entered the UK unlawfully by navigating the Channel in small vessels.

The individual was placed on a regularly scheduled airline flight and received financial assistance from British taxpayers as part of an agreement with Rwanda to facilitate their relocation.

The Sun reports that a man from Africa sought asylum in the UK, but his request was denied late last year. Subsequently, he agreed to relocate to Rwanda.

He departed from the UK on Monday.

This action was not carried out under the provisions of the Safety of Rwanda Act; instead, it utilized an alternative program permitting individuals to opt for relocation following the unsuccessful conclusion of their asylum applications in the UK.

Upon reaching Kigali, the individual can access approximately £3,000 in financial assistance funded by UK taxpayers.

The project faced criticism from the Labour Party and Nigel Farage, director of Reform UK.

Yvette Cooper, the Labour Party's spokesperson on home affairs, stated, "The Conservatives are so eager to have at least one flight depart for Rwanda before the local elections that they have resorted to simply paying someone to leave."

UK citizens are not only covering the £3,000 flight cost for a volunteer to travel, but they are also funding Rwanda to accommodate him with complimentary housing and meals for the upcoming five years. This costly maneuver, seemingly timed before elections, is expected to average a spending of £2 million per individual.

"Ex-Conservative Home Office officials cautioned that the administration's strategy was merely to launch symbolic flights prior to a General Election. Now, their concerns have become clear."

Ex-UKIP chief Mr. Farage stated, "Don't fall for the latest government rhetoric regarding the Rwanda agreement.

An African individual, who never made it across the Channel, was denied asylum but has agreed to accept £3,000 and complimentary accommodation.

"The measures will not halt the vessels."

Over two years ago, the government declared its plans to deport individuals to Rwanda, yet to date, no deportations have been executed.

Earlier in the month, the Safety of Rwanda Act was approved by parliament, with the government aiming to initiate flights within a timeframe of nine to 11 weeks.

A representative from the government stated: "Under our partnership focused on migration and economic development, we have the capability to transfer asylum seekers to Rwanda.

"This agreement enables individuals lacking immigration status in the UK to be transferred to a secure third country where they will receive assistance to start anew."
