Ferrari in High Gear to Secure F1 Legend Adrian Newey for 2025 Season

Ferrari is actively pursuing Adrian Newey for a potential role in their team once he exits Red Bull in 2025, according to recent reports.

Ferrari is actively making efforts to recruit Adrian Newey, the departing technical head of Red Bull's F1 team, as soon as he is free to join in 2025.

Ahead of the Miami Grand Prix this weekend, Red Bull has announced that Newey, considered the most accomplished car designer in F1 history, is set to depart from the team in early 2025, following a tenure of almost twenty years.

Significantly, the individual, aged 65, has managed to secure an early departure from Red Bull through the assistance of his close companion and manager, Eddie Jordan, who is known for his previous role as an F1 team leader.

Newey's agreement was initially set to expire at the end of 2025, and it was thought to encompass a one-year non-compete agreement, theoretically barring him from switching to a competing team until 2027.

Sky has disclosed that Newey will have the opportunity to switch to a different team by April 2025 at the earliest.

According to The Race, it's reported that Fred Vasseur, the team principal for Ferrari, is actively working to ensure this development occurs.

It is said that Vasseur had a discussion with Newey in London this week regarding the potential of Newey becoming a part of Ferrari.

Ferrari is highly favored to secure Newey, who has rejected their advances at least three times before. This comes even as the engineering genius has been presented with a tempting deal from Aston Martin.

Red Bull has announced that Newey has ceased his daily design responsibilities in Formula 1 effective immediately. However, he will still make appearances at several races throughout the year and remain involved in the development of his RB17 hypercar.

On Thursday, Lewis Hamilton acknowledged that having the chance to collaborate with Newey would be an incredible and honorable experience.

In response to a question about his desire to have Newey accompany him as he transitions from Mercedes to Ferrari in 2025, Hamilton expressed a strong interest, saying he would "very much" like that to happen.

"The seven-time world champion mentioned, 'Adrian boasts an impressive background and achievements.'"

"Clearly, he has accomplished incredible feats throughout his career, connecting with teams and sharing his expertise. I believe he would be a fantastic asset."

Ferrari boasts an impressive lineup. They're making significant advances, with their vehicle showing improved speed this year.

"Collaborating with Newey would be an honor."
