Envision Energy’s $1 Billion Investment: Building a Green Hydrogen Industrial Park in Spain for Clean Energy Transition
Envision Energy plans to construct a green hydrogen industrial park in Spain worth $1 billion. The project will be a collaboration with the Spanish government as well as local industrial and financial organizations, according to the company based in Shanghai.
Envision Energy, a renewable energy company from China, has plans to construct a green hydrogen industrial park in Spain, valued at $1 billion. This project aims to assist Spain's shift towards renewable energy, in addition to promoting China's goal to lead the sector.
The company, being the globe's second biggest provider of wind turbines, plans to collaborate with Spain's government and regional industrial and financial organizations to construct a plant for manufacturing electrolysers, as mentioned in an announcement. These electrolysers are instrumental in creating green hydrogen that can subsequently fuel vehicles and produce electric power.
Upon completion, the industrial park is set to provide 5 gigawatts (GW) of electrolysis capacity, which is close to half of Spain's national goal of reaching 11GW by 2030, as stated by Envision. Furthermore, the investment might lead to the creation of 1,000 new employment opportunities.
"Spain's perfect mix of resources, market size and know-how positions it perfectly to become Europe's frontrunner in green hydrogen," stated Zhang Lei, the originator and head of Envision Energy. He added that along with its technology collaborators, "Envision is thrilled to contribute to solidifying Spain's future in green energy."
