The Ducati team member is engaged in a competitive struggle against Marc Marquez and Jorge Martin to retain his current motorcycle for the upcoming season.

Should Bastianini lose his spot, there's a strong possibility Aprilia will present him with a position for the 2025 MotoGP roster.

However, the introduction of Plan C has emerged as a surprising strategy for the Italian motorcyclist.

According to Sky Italia, Tech3 GASGAS could be a viable option for Bastianini.

"It is emphasized in Bastianini's native land that the immense possibilities stemming from the partnership between KTM and Red Bull are something to be taken seriously."

In 2025, Tech3 GASGAS is set to part ways with their rising star, Pedro Acosta, as he is expected to secure a position with the factory KTM team.

Leveraging the elevated position that Acosta has contributed to, they might set their sights on a leading contender such as Bastianini.

Bastianini might have to search beyond the immediate horizon if the factory Ducati team decides to pass him over, potentially for Marquez, and if Aprilia, which also shows interest in Martin, does not consider him either.

Bastianini, now in his second year donning the red colors but experiencing his first season free from significant injuries, occupies the third position in the MotoGP rankings following the completion of five races.

He currently leads his teammate and the current champion, Pecco Bagnaia, following the French MotoGP event in Le Mans this past weekend.

However, Bastianini and his astute manager Carlo Pernat understand that mere performance will not persuade Ducati to retain him in their premier team for the upcoming year.
