**”Dorna and FIM Secure MotoGP’s Future with Landmark Agreement Until 2060″**
Dorna and FIM have prolonged their MotoGP promotion rights deal, securing the agreement through 2060.
Dorna Sports has prolonged its rights to promote all FIM World Championships it currently manages, such as MotoGP and WorldSBK, through the year 2060.
In 1992, Dorna obtained the rights to promote the FIM Grand Prix World Championship.
Collaborating closely with the teams' organization (IRTA) and the manufacturers' group (MSMA), the alliance between the FIM and Dorna creates a remarkable environment in MotoGP, grounded in an exceptional level of agreement that prioritizes the sport.
The expanded agreement also covers several other FIM World Championships. These include the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship, which has been managed by Dorna since 2015, the FIM Enel MotoE World Championship, overseen by Dorna from 2019, the FIM JuniorGP World Championship, under Dorna’s wing since 2019, and the FIM Women’s Circuit Racing World Championship, which joined the Dorna portfolio in 2023.
Jorge Viegas, the President of the FIM, stated, "This marks a crucial milestone that ensures long-term stability and certainty for the highest level of motorcycle racing."
"This is crucial not just for the participants in MotoGP, but also for the entire motorcycle racing community, which gains advantages from the series' international recognition, significance, and influence."
The continuous and increasingly close partnership among the FIM, Dorna Sports, and other major stakeholders has been established over many years. The trust and cooperation that have developed, along with this long-term agreement, provide a strong basis for the future growth of MotoGP and its associated championships.
“Representing the FIM, I want to convey my deepest thanks to Dorna Sports for their dedication since 1992. I am optimistic about our joint efforts to maintain and enhance the success and expansion of MotoGP for many years ahead.”
Carmelo Ezpeleta, the CEO of Dorna Sports, the company that holds the rights to MotoGP, expressed his pride in announcing a new agreement with the FIM. He described the news as excellent for the sport and its global fanbase, ensuring the continuation of their partnership. Ezpeleta emphasized the uniqueness and growth potential of MotoGP, which will be further enhanced through this long-term agreement. He highlighted the significant value this deal brings to MotoGP in today's sports and entertainment industry, noting the strong consensus within the organization. Ezpeleta extended his gratitude to the FIM for their support and expressed his enthusiasm for expanding and improving MotoGP as their collaboration progresses.
Liberty Media, the company holding the commercial rights to Formula One, is now finalizing its purchase of Dorna Sports.
