National media reveals the application of unauthorized substances to enhance the appearance and durability of the berries

Officials in Golmud, located in Qinghai province, and Jingyuan county in Gansu province announced on Monday that they have established dedicated teams to probe into the matter.

Golmud officials have stated that the findings of the investigation and the management of the case will be disclosed to the public promptly.

"Individuals accountable for the transgressions will face strict penalties in accordance with the law."

The food safety committee of Jingyuan released a comparable announcement.
